The Customer

The Customer is a Taiwan-based company that manufactures scanners. Its core technologies include electronic image processing (optical and mechanical).

The Challenge

Tata Infotech had to design an integrated embedded application in Linux, which would act as a fax server, printer server, scanner, have an emailing facility and also save files on a remote file server.

The Solution

Tata Infotech designed and developed the printer and fax server using the Embedded Linux technology for Printer and Fax Server. The Graphic User Interface (GUI) design and development was done using the Micro windows API Library for Linux. The application has login and system administration screens and remote web administration.

Additional features of this system include utilities such as the Address book, Phone book, System configuration for a Network, User Management, File Server Management, Printer Server Management and Fax Server Management, Provision for fax receiving and forwarding functions.

Tata Infotech integrated all the components and the GUI into the Embedded Linux technology to build the complete system image as a package.
