Case Study
- Design of MICR board
Customer:
IT major in USA
Technology:
Embedded; Hardware design
The Customer
The customer is a worldwide information technology
services and solutions company. Primary vertical markets for the
customer worldwide include financial services, transportation,
communications, media, commercial and public sectors, which includes
federal government customers of the US government. The customer
offers the broadest range of paper payment products - from compact-size
branch units to high-speed transports that process up to 2,000
documents per minute.
The Challenge
The MICR board of a high-speed read machine had
to be redesigned. The old board made use of around 13 DSPs, which
had to be replaced by a single DSP.
The Solution
Tata Infotech designed and developed the new board with TM 1300
and ADSP 2192 to replace the 13 old DSPs using the TM1300 MICR
Reader Board technology. The evaluation and selection of the DSPs
was done at Tata Infotech.
The circuits were designed and put through the interfacing process
along with the porting of the MINC to VHDL. Tata Infotech also
executed the schematics and the PCB design for the project.
