Requirements
Catalyst WMS is extensively configurable, which ensures that management
strategies are implemented on a consistent and error-free basis. Cycle-counting,
for stock-checking on an ongoing basis by task interleaving, without shutting
down the warehouse, is supported. Moves, space utilisation, vehicle utilisation
(such as for fork lifts), labour tracking, security levels and productivity
are all planned for and accomplished efficiently and effectively. A Decision
Support System module provides critical feedback on warehouse activities.
Optimal combinations of the functions described above are strategically
packaged for the Consumer Goods, Retail, Motor Vehicle-Parts, Industrial-Technology,
and Process Goods vertical market segments. Catalyst WMS is highly scaleable
software that can grow with the customer organisation, whether with one
warehouse, or a network of warehouses that all use the same WMS installation.
Large organisations leverage the scale of their operations through the
advanced interfaces that Catalyst WMS has with market-leading ERP systems,
which allow these enterprises to seamlessly integrate their WMS and ERP
systems.
Warehouse
Management Systems-Flexibility in Implementation
End-customers have the option at the time of implementation
to require enhanced or modified features, and Enterprise Application Integration
(EAI), for which the Catalyst WMS package is flexible. A team that includes
staff of the customer and Catalyst, after initial training of the customer,
develops business scenarios and a Conference Room Pilot to configure the
software using the customer's parameters. A good implementation management
methodology ensures that every step, from project planning to testing,
installation and training is accomplished on time, on budget, and on target.
Since the Catalyst WMS is a standard product incorporating SCM best practices,
there is no waiting time to develop a new software, and an orderly implementation.
Transition can be provided in as little as four months, because the team
gets down to user-configuration of the software straightaway.
Since
1993, Tata Infotech has been involved in the development and support of
Catalyst's open-architecture high-end WMS through several releases of
the standard product. Tata Infotech consultants were involved in the development
of the industry-changing web enabled WMS 8.0 release. Tata Infotech professionals
work to provide unique and complex modifications and enhancements for
many of Catalyst's customers across the vertical industry segments, and
to follow up each implementation with 24-hour-a-day support worldwide.
End-customers include Sony, Reebok, General Motors International, Nestlé,
ShopKo, Murdock, Madeus and Schwabe, Dick's Sporting Goods, Family Dollar,
Rose's Stores, Inc. and CTI for Compaq, many with exacting delivery schedules
and challenging requirements that demand specialised knowledge of several
product areas.
Tata
Infotech brings technological, functional and project-execution skills
that extend the capabilities of Catalyst in a scaleable manner. Technology
platforms have extended from a variety of database systems that form the
nuts and bolts of the old and new economies to the latest tools that provide
the flexibility and user-friendliness of the new economy software. Tata
Infotech meets the exceptional range and depth of skills required by a
world-class warehouse management system like Catalyst.
