Energy Efficiency - Need of the Hour

The recognition of its social responsibility, especially as part of the quality driven and environment conscious Tata Group, prompted Tata Infotech Limited to develop a product for facilitating the efficient management of energy in India. Studies undertaken by TIL have proved that as much as 30% of the electricity consumed can easily be saved by the use of energy efficient design practices. Eco-Lumen, the Energy Efficient Lighting Designer software from Tata Infotech, has been developed in order to convert this theory into practice.

An Innovative Concept

Eco-Lumen is India's first Facility Lighting Designing software targeted at the implementation of energy efficient practices. Eco-Lumen is a Decision Support Tool that simplifies the complex process of designing the lighting layouts for any facility. It comes equipped with data of leading lighting equipment companies, thus giving you a choice of brands for the facilities you design.

In addition to providing quick, easy and accurate designs for lighting layouts, Eco-Lumen also optimize the energy consumption in these layouts. By creating an optimal balance between the aesthetic and the efficient, Eco-Lumen provides you with unlimited opportunity to explore your potential. And yet, the flexibility of Eco-Lumen helps you to create unique designs each time.

Features

Eco-Lumen is being launched in two commercial versions, the Base Version and the Advanced Version.

• Provision for multiple level switching to ensure energy conservation, even at low-occupancy levels
• Dynamic, professional reports that can be customised to suit individual requirements

The Advanced Version of Eco-Lumen enables:

• 3-Dimensional room views for each layout
• 3-Dimensional lighting distribution contours
• Moving individual fittings and fixtures to provide flexibility in designs
• Switching individual lamps on or off
• Direct import of AutoCAD (.dxf) drawings, thus eliminating manual keying in of inputs
• Provision for adding various objects, such as furniture, for real life effects
• Analysis for effect of obstructions
• Lighting quality analysis for optimising glare index and light distribution

Limitations of the Freeware version

• Print facility is not provided in the version.
• Room dimensions are restricted to 8m * 5m * 5m (Or 26feet * 16feet * 16feet) for length, Width and height respectively.
• User can design 3 buildings with 5 rooms each using the freeware version.
